Announcing the release of Rat Lunch, available digitally September 25th from the Underwolf store; in wide release October 16th.
Rat Lunch will be performed live Friday, October 12th at The Firehouse Space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, along with a set by Dollshot.
Hampton Fancher, best known as the screenwriter of Blade Runner, narrates his original text set to music by Noah Kaplan in the post-rock spoken word cantata Rat Lunch. Fancher’s cryptic prose darts from Freud to Uncle Tom, from the humorous to the macabre over a trio of electric guitar (Marco Cappelli), electric bass (Giacomo Merega), and saxophone (Noah Kaplan). Kaplan’s moody, cinematic score illuminates the careening trajectory of Fancher’s text.
When purchased from the Underwolf store, Rat Lunch will include an exclusive digital edition of Fancher’s text, designed by Pablo Delkan.
Fancher’s book of short stories, The Shape of the Final Dog, published by Penguin’s Blue Rider Press, is out September 13th.
